Bubbles

Shutter Sisters is having a little contest over on their blog They want to see bubble pictures or something to do with summer pictures. So these are a few I took, but I am not sure which one to enter.

Sometimes summer can be boring!

Haven't done very much this summer. For one, it's just been too HOT! Middle Georgia has been hit by a heat wave for the last few weeks and it has been awful. I spend most days cleaning, grocery shopping and fooling around on the computer. I would like to be out taking more pictures but my daughter grumbles at me everytime I mention it. Here are a few more pic's that I was lucky enough to get of her.

Do you know who The Pioneer Woman is? Well I do and so do a lot of other people. She has a great website, and on that great website she hosts the occasional photo contest. Well the last contest was for bugs, yes bugs of all things. So I entered because I just love bugs, sure.... anyway, I ended up being a finalist but I didn't win. The winner really did have a great picture so I don't feel bad. Here is the photo I entered.

Yea, pretty good right? I know, but not good enough.... I tell ya, it just makes me want to try harder next time, and that my friends is a good thing.

St. Simons Island trip!

Decided to get away for a night so we drove to St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island. It's only 3 hrs away so it's a nice way to get away. Can I say away anymore? It was soooo crazy hot though so we didn't really do much. My daughter can't take the heat and was sick so we weren't able to go on the Ghost Walk that they have down by the lighthouse. I figure we can go back in the early fall and try again! Here are some pics I took.

Took some pictures of my daughter the other day. I really like the way they turned out. I'm thinking that if I can get results like this with a point and shoot and should be able to do really well with a good DSLR... don't ya think. Anyway, that is on my wish list, hopefully by next year.
