Paper Mama Photo Challenge - Self

The Paper Mama

This week the challenge is for a self portrait. This kind of sums up my life. Laundry and photography. One thing I love, the other not so much, but both I do A LOT! The knob probably sould say Heavy Duty, not sure if Normal really works for me, ha!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday!

Ok, first up this week is Bokeh, and oh how I LOVE me some bokeh, it was hard to choose! So hard I chose two!
Next is business... hmmm I really didn't know what to put so I went with my new large format printer that I got when I bought my new camera. Buying the two together got me a $400 rebate so the printer only cost me $29, can't beat that!

Next is eco-friendly. I went with my filtered water from the fridge. We NEVER buy bottled water unless it's absolutely necessary. I hate to think of all that plastic sitting in a land fill.
Next is repetition.... I could think of MANY things I do over and over and OVER again.... I went with brushing my teeth and feeding my cats. (and no I do not normally feed them on my counter)
And lastly we have music, I had a cool picture of my daughter playing the clarinet but I can't find it so I went with my MP3 earbuds.
Thats all folks! For more scavenger hunt finds check out http://www.ashleysisk.blogspot.com/

I Heart Faces "Beach Fun" photo challenge!

This is a picture of my daughter having fun one freezing evening on the beach. It was so cold but she still had her shoes off so she could feel the sand between her toes!

A few more edited railroad shots!

My daughters friend made a good model.

Finally got to the railroad for some portraits!

It was a lot of fun and a good learning experience. I think I need to close the aperature just a little more, it was hard to get a crisp shot. All in all I am happy with a few of them, too bad it was so hot or I would have taken more.

You Capture - In the Kitchen

Ok, this week over at I Should Be Folding Laundry, the You Capture Challenge was "In The Kitchen". So since I can't seem to take enough pictues of my salt and pepper shakers, here they are!
Atleast three times a week I eat ramin with spinach for lunch... I know healthy right????

Next cause I know you were dying to see it is my dirty silverware, yes I said dirty, as in I opened the dishwasher and took a picture.... cause who doesn't want to see that?
Ok, these are my cabinets which I LOVE, YES LOVE... I've always wanted a really nice kitchen and I've finally gotten one. If we ever move I will be crushed!
Sometimes I need one or three of these to make things better.... I kid..... well sort of....

Scavenger Hunt Sunday!

First is "Leading Lines". This is the bridge on the way to Jekyll Island.

Another leading lines because I couldn't choose.
And one more... because why not!
Next is "Something Comfortable" and I can't think of anything more comfortable then my bed! I just love getting into it every night.
Next item is "Feet".  First are my husbands at the beach, the other is my foot, ok it's not feet but I like the bokeh and the fact that it shows my jacked up pinky toe which I must have broken atleast 4 times!
Next is "Sight". This could be interpreted in many ways. I chose a picture of my daughter, my only child, because the sight of her through my view finder is one of my favorite things. She is 13 now and growing up too quickly so any chance I get to photograph her I jump at. Also I love the sight of the reflection in her sunglasses. And sunglasses affect how we see on a sunny day.
And lastly we have "Sweet". Now I am not a big sweet fan, if you had said cheese or salt I would have had a ton more things to photograph. I did have a few things, so this is what was on hand at the moment.

"Fix it Friday" For I Heart Faces!

This is really a cute photo but the colors seem kind of flat to me. Here is the SOOC shot.
Here is my edit. I use Paint Shop Pro X2 for all my editing. I sharpened the image, cropped it alittle and added some brightness with a few textured layers. I think it looks pretty good.

The Paper Mama Photo Challenge "Orange"

The Paper Mama

Found a new weekly photo contest to enter, and I can't tell you enough how much I enjoy a good contest. This picture is of my niece. I only saw the contest today so I didn't really have time to take another picture. I really love this one of her!

Visit The Paper Mama for more great entries!
Something new to try, Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Seems like it will be fun! Here are my photos for the hunt:

First one is mood. My daughter was in a nutty mood while posing for me for some pictures!
Next is something masculine. I thought my husband and beer would do!
Then something for feminine. My jewelrey box....which happens to be quite a mess.
Then something with my first or last initial. I went with C for Christine. There are two here!
And lastly architecture. I went with the ceiling in my diningroom because one I love it and two I didn't get to go out and take anything else!
Thats all for this week. If you want to see more head over to www.ashleysisk.blogspot.com/
